Another week is nearly in the books and this one has brought a cold front with it.  The recent arctic blast has arrived just in time for Fall War Games.  My older daughter, Mary Margaret and I are in the Apache tribe which is part of the Koasati nation. Seriously. This year we are participating in a program called Indian Princess which is essentially designed to promote daddy-daughter bonding time. This weekend we will be camping out with a bunch of other daddies and daughters and participating in activities of some sort. Can you tell this is going to be my my first time?  As part of the program, we all have to choose our own Indian name. Mary Margaret is Howling Coyote and I am Sleeping Coyote. We will see how well this coyote sleeps in sub 40 degree temperatures.  Do you think they will have wifi at the campsites? I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Apache were great wifi pioneers. Maybe I should have paid more attention in History class.  This could be more than I bargained for.  Wish me luck.   Read the rest of this entry »

I’m looking out of my office window at this beautiful Friday morning and I can’t help but think that today is going to be a good day. There’s not a cloud in a sky that almost looks ceramic, there’s a benign breeze excusing itself through the trees and, of course, its Friday. So let’s all have a good day.   Read the rest of this entry »
