Friday has snuck up on us this time around, but is still just as welcome even in a short week. As I look forward to the weekend, I cannot help but be reminded of the horrible attacks that struck our soil 10 years ago. I imagine there will be a lot of 9/11 coverage on television this weekend and that the inevitable media onslaught will bring back a lot of memories. I will never forget the shock and confusion turned to sadness and anger that I felt that Tuesday morning as I prepared for a normal day of classes shortly after the beginning of my second year in law school. I tried to imagine what it must have been like to be on one of those airplanes or to be in the World Trade Center. I was devastated knowing the absolute terror that the innocent victims must have felt. My heart continued to ache for those who lost family members and friends in the attacks. Every time I am reminded of that day, I think about my friends and family and pray that none of us ever have to endure a day like that again. Read the rest of this entry »
